Wellness is when your body, mind, and spirit are in sync, and the practice of yoga helps all of those parts of yourself come into balance. The yoga class I will be teaching at our beautiful new library space will start at the beginner level and progress very slowly through our six-week program. The type of yoga to be taught is from the very basic Hatha Yoga style, with the flowing practice of yoga called Vinyasa. Simply put, with every movement, there is a breath. Yoga for Wellness is taught from two perspectives, anatomically and therapeutically, meaning how the body is arranged and aligned and how that alignment, movement, and breath affect how the body can function more efficiently to contribute to a sense of well-being. This is yoga for every body, and for everybody. Yoga does not discriminate or differentiate with any type of demographic descriptor. Yoga does not criticize or judge.
I look forward to leading students through this journey into balance and awareness.
